Seize the Clay

Terms of service.

By booking a session with us, you’re letting us know that you’ve read and agree to the following. It’s all about keeping everyone safe, relaxed and enjoying the creative process together.

1. Acknowledging the Risks

Pottery is great fun, but like any hands-on activity, there are a few natural risks involved. These can include:

  • Small cuts from tools

  • Burns from hot kilns

  • Muscle strain from lifting clay or equipment

  • Contact with clay dust or glaze materials

  • Slips or trips due to wet floors or clay spills

By taking part, you accept responsibility for your own safety while in the studio.

2. Responsibility & Liability

By attending, you agree that Seize the Clay, along with our staff and helpers, can’t be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage that may occur during your session.

3. Keeping Our Studio Safe

To help keep the space safe and enjoyable for everyone, we ask that you:

  • Use tools and equipment carefully and follow instructions

  • Wear closed-toe shoes and suitable clothing

  • Let us know about any medical conditions or allergies in advance

  • Don’t attend if you’re under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Cover the cost of any damage caused to studio equipment or property

4. Photos & Videos

We love capturing the creativity in our studio and may take photos or videos to share on our website or social pages. If you’d rather not be included, just let your instructor know before the session starts — no problem at all.

5. Emergencies

If there’s an emergency, you give us permission to seek first aid or medical treatment for you. Any medical costs would be your responsibility.

6. Your Privacy

Your information is kept safe and is only used for booking and emergency purposes. We never share your details with anyone else.

7. Cancellations

All bookings are non-refundable. As a small independent studio, your place is reserved exclusively for you once booked.

However, we will always try and accomodate by providing you with a new date or reschedule.

If you need to reschedule with more than 3 weeks’ notice, we will attempt to re-sell your space. If we successfully fill it, you can move to a new date. If not, we’re unable to offer a reschedule — but you’re welcome to pass your place on to a friend.
